Soki Kimura, an urban planner currently working for the northern Japanese city of Aomori.
Heavily interested in the intersection of urban data and design, with masters' degrees from UCL's Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis and the University of Sheffield's School of Architecture and Landscape.
Enthusiastic about the dynamics of the city in general, and my projects here are mostly on visualization and analysis of urban data.
Some recent projects to share:
- Main contributor to the Cycle Shortcut: Beat the Winding Rails, Grand Award-winner of Japan's largest transport-data hackathon
- Online portfolio on GitHub Pages using Quarto
- I ran through the #30DayMapChallenge in November 2023 and in 2024
