Internal cleanup and simplification deserve a patch release. Moved 'refactor' from hidden Miscellaneous to a visible 'Code Refactoring' section so cleanup PRs trigger release PRs. Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com>
