Describe the bug
Modrinth App version
0.14.8
Operating system
Windows 11
Describe the bug
When installing my Forge-only mod through Modrinth App, Fabric API is automatically installed even though neither the project nor its dependencies require Fabric.
Steps to reproduce
- Create a new Forge 1.20.1 instance.
- Install Maple Tree 1.0.2.
- Modrinth App automatically installs Fabric API 0.92.9+1.20.1.
Expected behavior
Only the following mods should be installed:
- Maple Tree 1.0.2
- TerraBlender 3.0.1.10 (required dependency)
Fabric API should not be installed.
Actual behavior
Fabric API 0.92.9+1.20.1 is automatically added to the Forge instance.
Additional information
- Maple Tree 1.0.2 is marked as Forge-only.
- The version metadata shows Forge as the only loader.
- The only required dependency is TerraBlender.
- Installing TerraBlender by itself does not install Fabric API.
- The issue only occurs when installing Maple Tree through Modrinth App.
Steps to reproduce
- Create a new Forge 1.20.1 instance in Modrinth App.
- Install Maple Tree 1.0.2.
- Allow Modrinth App to install required dependencies.
- Fabric API 0.92.9+1.20.1 is automatically installed.
Expected behavior
Only Maple Tree 1.0.2 and its required dependency TerraBlender should be installed.
Fabric API should not be installed because the project is Forge-only and does not depend on Fabric API.
Additional context
Maple Tree 1.0.2 is marked as Forge-only on Modrinth.
The version metadata lists Forge as the only supported loader.
The only required dependency is TerraBlender 3.0.1.10.
Installing TerraBlender by itself does not install Fabric API.
The issue appears only when installing Maple Tree through Modrinth App.
Screenshots of the project metadata page and the resulting instance contents are attached.
